In the search for Anaïs Nin, one of the first few links shows a picture of a man. Why? Since Nin is a woman, I can’t figure out why. Can you show some reason for this? Who is he? If you click on the picture a group of pictures of Nin and no mention of that man. Is it an error?

Yahoo Search App from the Google Play Store on my Samsung Galaxy S8+ phone stopped working on May 18, 2018.

I went to the Yahoo Troubleshooting page but the article that said to do a certain 8 steps to fix the problem with Yahoo Services not working and how to fix the problem. Of course they didn't work.

I contacted Samsung thru their Samsung Tutor app on my phone. I gave their Technican access to my phone to see if there was a problem with my phone that stopped the Yahoo Search App from working. He went to Yahoo and I signed in so he could try to fix the Yahoo Search App not working. He also used another phone, installed the app from the Google Play Store to see if the app would do any kind of search thru the app. The Yahoo Search App just wasn't working.

I also had At&t try to help me because I have UVERSE for my internet service. My internet was working perfectly. Their Technical Support team member checked the Yahoo Search App and it wouldn't work for him either.

We can go to www.yahoo.com and search for any topic or website. It's just the Yahoo Search App that won't allow anyone to do web searches at all.

I let Google know that the Yahoo Search App installed from their Google Play Store had completely stopped working on May 18, 2018.

I told them that Yahoo has made sure that their Yahoo members can't contact them about anything.

I noticed that right after I accepted the agreement that said Oath had joined with Verizon I started having the problem with the Yahoo Search App.
No matter what I search for or website thru the Yahoo Search App it says the following after I searched for

I tried to search for things like www.homedepot.com. The same thing happened. It would say WEBPAGE NOT AVAILABLE. The only thing that changed were all the upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols.
Then it would again say

This is the same thing that happened when Samsung and At&t tried to do any kind of searches thru the Yahoo Search App.

Bitcoin's share of the crypto market hits an all-time low as 'alt-coins' go wild

Crypto's total market cap hit an all-time high above $660 billion on Tuesday as so-called alternative coins, or "alt-coins," charged upwards.
Meanwhile the largest crypto, bitcoin, lagged behind small rival coins.
Bitcoin's share of the total cryptocurrency market cap hit an all-time low on Tuesday below 36%.

With a market share of nearly 90%, bitcoin's dominance over the cryptocurrency space appeared unshakable at the start of 2017.

As the year progressed, and new coins came onto the market, bitcoin's position dwindled. That trend has continued into 2018.

Bitcoin's market capitalization as a percentage of the total crypto-market hit an all-time low below 36% on Tuesday as smaller so-called alternative cryptocurrencies rallied, according to data provider CoinMarketCap.com. That's down from 65% at the start of December.

To be sure, bitcoin gained an eye-popping 1,300% in 2017. Still, over the past month many alternative digital currencies have far outpaced bitcoin, thus cutting into bitcoin's share of the overall market.

Ripple, Stellar, and Cardano were all up more than 80% over the last week, for instance. Meanwhile, bitcoin was trading down more than 6% over the same period. What's striking is that typically when bitcoin is down, the entire market takes a hit. But even as bitcoin lagged, crypto's total market cap soared above $665 billion as alts charged upwards.

John Spallanzani, the chief macro strategist at GFI Group, told Business Insider that a healthy shift from bitcoin to other cryptocurrencies has been taking place in the space.

"Rotation is good," he said in a Twitter direct message."It's healthy when money moves around, goes to where it is treated best."

Ryan Taylor, the CEO of cryptocurrency Dash, told Business Insider that bitcoin's market share will continue to decline as more cryptocurrency projects enter the market.

"It is inevitable," he said. "One blockchain cannot be all things or address all market needs optimally."

Ripple's XRP, for instance, is designed to improve international money transfers. As for Dash, it seeks to act as a convenient vehicle of exchange in ecommerce. Those use-cases, according to Taylor, have been attracting investors to alts.

"While bitcoin is increasingly viewed as digital gold, other blockchains are focused on delivering smart contracts, tracking logistics data, serving specific industries, or facilitating transactions," Taylor said.

David Sønstebø, the founder of cryptocurrency IOTA, said bitcoin's identity crisis has allowed new projects to eat its lunch. Power brokers in the bitcoin community have squabbled over its purpose for years. Some have said it is better suited to behave as a store of value - sort of like a digital gold - whereas others see it better suited as a payments network. Investors, Sønstebø said, will pour into those cryptocurrencies with a clear use-case.

"I believe 2018 will be the year where crypto has to prove its utility beyond a speculative asset, and bitcoin cannot do that today," Sønstebø said. "I don't even like calling projects 'alts' anymore, rather bitcoin was a prototype and now we are seeing the future incarnations being built."

Still, not everyone thinks market capitalization is a meaningful indicator. Jimmy Song, a bitcoin developer, said the data is unreliable and doesn't paint a precise picture of what's going on in the cryptocurrency market.

"Like with most things, Bitcoin Dominance is a very crude metric and one that's unfortunately very easy to manipulate," he said in a Medium post.

Some coins, such as Ripple, are pre-mined. As such, the entities behind the coins can increase or decrease the supply as they see fit.

"This isn't anything new and in the stock market, stocks that play float manipulation games generally become juicy targets for short-sellers," he wrote. "Alt-coins like Gnosis, for example only floated 5% of their coins, so ask yourself, how much of Gnosis's $115 million market cap as of this writing is real?"

CoinMarketCap Removes Misleading Website From its Bitcoin Page

There is no shortage of drama in the world of Bitcoin and altcoins. CoinMarketCap is the primary site to check on coin values and market caps at all times. The team has made an interesting decision by removing one of the “official” websites associated with Bitcoin. Considering how that platform heralds Bitcoin Cash as the real Bitcoin, such a decision was forthcoming.

In the world of cryptocurrency, there is only one Bitcoin. A rather simple statement, but one that is anything but simple to put into practice. In theory, all altcoins are derived from Bitcoin, since BTC was the first cryptocurrency of its kind. Even so, that statement may not necessarily hold up either.

A Justifiable Decision by CoinMarketCap

Some fans of Bitcoin Cash are going quite far in this regard. Referring to Satoshi Nakamoto’s whitepaper as the Bitcoin Cash paper is certainly controversial. These same people also swear how BTC is an experimental fork with no plan of action. Shenanigans like these have been going on for some time now.

There are also sites using the Bitcoin term in their domain name to dilute the truth. One of those sites was previously listed on CoinMarketCap . More specifically, CoinMarketCap displayed it as one of the two official sites regarding BTC. The name of that site would indicate that to be correct. In reality, they portray Bitcoin Cash as the real Bitcoin, which is factually incorrect in many different ways.

As such, CoinMarketCap now removed this website on the Bitcoin page altogether. It was coming for some time now, as confusing novice users serves no purpose. Bitcoin Cash is successful as an altcoin, whereas Bitcoin is successful as Bitcoin. There is no reason to mix up the two now or in the future. More and more people take an aggressive stance against this dilution. It is a direly needed change too as things are genuinely getting out of hand.

New Change.org Petition aims to Force CoinMarketCap to Display the Correct Bitcoin Cash Supply

There is a new petition on Change.org which has cryptocurrency implications. More specifically, the petition aims to see CoinMarketCap represent the Bitcoin Cash supply in a more accurate manner. Whether or not such a change needs a petition to succeed, is a different manner altogether. Even so, the recent burning of miner fees by Bitmain continues to cause some interesting changes.

There is some confusion as to how high the current Bitcoin Cash supply really is. More specifically, a small amount is being burned as we speak. Bitmain is destroying 12% of its generated Bitcoin Cash fees every so often. As such, the current circulating supply on websites tracking that information is not entirely correct. CoinMarketCap, for example, is showing the wrong information as of right now.

Will the new Bitcoin Cash Petition Make a Difference?

Albeit this is just a fractional difference, it still needs to be corrected. The new Change.org petition aims to achieve that goal. While one could argue a petition isn’t even needed, some people feel it is the only way. At the same time, someone has already reached out to Coinmarketcap warning them about this burning process. It will require the CMC team to make some adjustments, although things should be in order fairly soon.

All of this brings even more attention to Bitcoin Cash as of right now. There is a lot of focus on this ecosystem already, yet the petition sparks another interesting debate. With so many websites out there tracking coin supplies, they will all need to update their information accordingly. That will undoubtedly take some time, even though it is a minor process. Bitmain will continue to burn 12% of the BCH fees at all times, thus keeping track of these developments shouldn’t be overly challenging.

Whether or not the petition will make a difference, remains unclear. As of right now, it only has two out of 100 needed signatures. That number will undoubtedly go up as more time progresses. Since CoinMarketCap adjusted the circulating supply for other currencies, they will most likely do the same for Bitcoin Cash. When that will happen exactly, is a different matter altogether.

Bitcoin Cash Price Drops by $900 as CoinMarketCap Excludes Bithumb’s Price

Cryptocurrency enthusiasts are all too familiar with the concept of the roller coaster. The Bitcoin price has seen wild fluctuations, but eventually settles down without too much of a problem. The Bitcoin Cash price, on the other hand, has seen massive growth and is starting to pay the price. These past few hours have seen a drop of US$700 in the artificially inflated price of this altcoin.

Bitcoin Cash Price is Showing Signs of Weakness

A lot has been said about the Bitcoin Cash price over the past week. That is not entirely surprising, as this slightly modified version of Bitcoin has seen a pretty stellar price trend over the past few days. After rising from US$350 all the way to a new all-time high of over US$2,400, the major correction everyone knew was coming has finally begun. It may get very bloody in the coming hours, although the prior uptrend may resume as well, for all we know.

The Bitcoin Cash price is US$1,462.13 at the time of writing. While this is still a 53% increase compared to 24 hours ago, it is evident the major Bitcoin Cash price party is over as of right now. About an hour ago, this currency was worth US$1,000 more than it is now. It is evident that BCH’s inflated market capitalization and price would eventually result in people cashing out. It’s mainly the people advocating for this fork to succeed who are taking profits, packing their ball, and going home.

This sharp drop in price was bound to happen sooner or later. With the Bitcoin Cash price having been pumped as hard as it has , something had to give sooner or later. Despite high trading volume all week, it is evident the sellers are starting to outweigh the buyers. A top has been reached at just over 0.5 BTC, even though everyone knows that never represented the true Bitcoin Cash price. No one knows what this altcoin should be worth right now, but it’s certainly not US$2,400.

The US$10.15 billion in 24-hour trading volume has certainly helped the Bitcoin Cash price retain its high value these past few days. Even right now, it is still up by almost 400% compared to a week or so ago. That in itself is pretty amazing, especially for a cryptocurrency which still has everything to prove right now. There will be some interesting developments in this regard over the next 48 hours, to say the very least.

Perhaps the most disconcerting aspect of all this is how Bithumb has generated around 40% of all trading volume for Bitcoin Cash during this entire pump. CoinMarketCap has decided not to use the Bithumb price for its weighted average anymore, although it is unclear why that is the case. Considering that the platform is still trading BCH at US$2,534 right now, it is evident something is amiss there. While everyone likes Bithumb, it is possible the exchange has run into some issues. We will keep an eye on this development over the coming hours and days to figure out what is going on exactly.

In the end, it seems the Bitcoin Cash price has had a good run, but all good things must come to an end. It is possible the Bitcoin Cash price will recover before the day is over, though, but without Bithumb leading the charge, that may not be as easy as one would assume. It will be very interesting to see what the future holds for BCH, as there are a lot of people paying attention to this particular market right now.

Bitcoin is not decentralized.
99% of transactions occur on exchanges hence are not on the blockchain.
0.75% of Bitcoin addresses posses 88% of Bitcoins.
Even when the transactions are done on the blockchain there is no way to know what Bitcoins were traded for.

This is not a news piece, this is an opinion piece. Why doesn’t this article mention anything about China wanting to use BCash as the new Bitcoin? Give us some real information, not your over-inflated opinionated banter. Pretty lame.

Chinese miners and SegWit2x band is behind this. Large Chinese miners will not do the move that could ruin them without some support from China gov-t. With Xi and Co set to dominate the world it is natural for them to have Bitcoin Asia. We will see this clearly within next few weeks, just follow hashpower stats.

It started as a collusion between china miners (bitmain) and Ver groups. Ran up with all the hashpower leaving BTC (though not fully) and miner’s money (they don’t have that much) coming in. Thus, move to $1300-1400 is justified. The dynamic has changed when lots of Chinese speculators jumped in for a few hours to pump and dump. Still watching for support around $1250-1300. If it holds another rush up will follow shortly.

The amount of dumb people in crypto space is staggering. But I suppose that’s why there’s a massive alt coin industry to accommodate them all.
If you can’t workout after about a month of playing with alts, that you lose money if you are not in BTC, then you deserve to be parted with your wealth.
Just in the time it took to write this comment, Btrash is down 100 to 1,100 and BTC is up 150 to 6,130.
You guys need to run a spreadsheet to compare how much you lost by not being in BTC, or at least get a calculator.

I see BTC and BCH at similar market caps within a few short months. Seems to me when China gov-t shows its support for BCH (if this happen) then this dynamic changes. IMHO, there is more to BCH moves than just pump and dump.

With centralized exchanges like Bithumb, and greedy business people pumping BCH, we need to think hard about what cryptocurrency is all about; decentralization.

Bitcoin should be scaled the right way and off main blockchain. Increasing block size and all WILL make individuals almost impossible to participate and protect the network due to ridiculous ever increasing blockchain size.

Too right. I’m running a full node as are a lot of other people who believe in a free bitcoin. If the miners had their way and put everything on chain then only they would be able to set up full node farms to validate transactions and control everything about transactions.
BitCoin devs need to address this mining cartel problem as soon as possible.
