First off let me say I am not a fan of Elliott Waves, now I know some traders rely solely on E.W. but as time goes on and they gain more experience those analysts will eventually come to the same conclusion as I have. Elliott Waves are subjective, I rely on very little wave analysis, I do take it into account, but I never base a trade solely on them. That being .

Nothing has changed since my previous update, price is still moving sideways. Yesterday it looked like Bitcoin was slipping and would make another drop but there were some buyers who pushed the price back into the triangle again. In one of my previous updates, i mentioned that i was thinking about 2 options. A bear flag, which would mean the price has to go .

The target of 6900/7000 did not get reached, because it was getting bought at the lows yesterday. In my last update i posted i said that it was clear that bearish momentum was dropping. 2 Bitcoin Stocks To Watch Closely

Editors' Note: This article covers a stock trading at less than $1 per share and/or with less than a $100 million market cap. Please be aware of the risks associated with these stocks.

"I'm a big fan of Bitcoin … Regulation of money supply needs to be depoliticized." -Al Gore, Former US Vice President and Winner of Nobel Peace Prize

Do you believe in the Bitcoin revolution and do you want to invest in Bitcoin related stocks, then you don't have a lot of investment choices on the US Capital Markets. There are just a few stocks that are Bitcoin related.

Before I talk about these two stocks, I would suggest reading the article Why Bitcoin Matters.

This article will give you more insight about the world of Bitcoin; it is written by Marc Andreessen. His venture capital firm, Andreessen Horowitz, has invested around $50 million in Bitcoin-related start-ups.

Up until now I came across two companies that are Bitcoin orientated. Here we go.

Currently WPCS International (WPCS) operates in two business segments:

  • providing communications infrastructure contracting services and;
  • developing a Bitcoin trading platform, called www.btxtrader.com.

T he Windows-based trading platform could especially be a game changer. BTXtrader allows U.S. citizens easy access to the complex world of bitcoin trading. By operating one of the world's leading bitcoin trading platforms, WPCS International offers investors direct exposure to the rapidly growing bitcoin services market. BTXtrader looks and acts like a traditional stock trading platform. Users can see real-time, up-to-the-second price quotes of bitcoins around the world. BTXtrader allows users to route orders to buy and sell bitcoins (and fractional bitcoins) across six of the largest bitcoin exchanges, including industry leader Mt. Gox. BTXtrader users also receive real-time bids and offers from all five exchanges, providing the most comprehensive depth-of-market view for bitcoins in operation today.

The WPCS trading product is expected in the second quarter of 2014 and it should be generating revenue for the company by mid-year.

An interesting company to watch going forward.

One of the most common complaints about Bitcoin is that you can't use it to buy anything practical. The second company will offer you the chance to buy almost everything you need.

Bitcoin Shop Inc.

This newly listed company is called Bitcoin Shop Inc, formerly known as Touchit Technologies. The ticker code is still TUCND but will be changed to BTCS. Yesterday's price was $3.31.

After doing a little research I found out the following. Bitcoinshop.us is an e-commerce site which is an Amazon affiliate. It already exists since June last year, when entrepreneurs Michal Handerhan and Tim Sidie, two former NASA engineers, started their business.

As mentioned the website, bitcoinshop.us is an Amazon affiliate but you can order with bitcoins.

There are more than 120,000 items for sale across 400 categories - books, electronics, sporting goods, even toys.

Since it is not yet widely accepted, I guess BitcoinShop's strongest selling area is electronics, because of tech-oriented Bitcoin believers.

Online retailers that only accept dollars by way of credit cards have to pay transaction fees that are typically passed on to consumers. BitcoinShop is pricing all its items in dollars and then converting those prices into bitcoins on the fly. The calculations are reset every 10 minutes, fast enough to keep up with Bitcoin's occasional wild swings.

Bitcoinshop.us will directly compete with Overstock.com (NASDAQ:OSTK). This big online retailer recently announced acceptance of bitcoins for payment. On the first day of sales with bitcoins, they reported $126,000 in bitcoin transactions.

Final Note

As the Bitcoin economy expands and is widely more accepted, investors have several opportunities to invest in this cryptocurrency.

The two stocks mentioned here are for high-risk investors that have a strong belief in the Bitcoin as a virtual currency.

Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from Seeking Alpha). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.

How to Invest in Bitcoin Stock

Investments in Bitcoin provide an alternative for those who wish to diversify their portfolio. It is possible to invest in the currency itself without purchasing any Bitcoins by buying into Bitcoin companies. Due to the nature of Bitcoins asset levels may increase or decrease dramatically within a certain period of time, so it is not for the faint hearted. There have been reports of those who have lost over half their investment within a period of a few months. Alternatively, there are those who have gained quickly due to price surges and profited from the value of Bitcoin rising. How much you would invest in Bitcoin is entirely up to you, and we will try to provide below some evidence as to why it is growing as a decentralised currency.

What are Bitcoin Stocks?

Bitcoin stocks are much like penny stocks: they are typically not very liquid, and the volume of shares traded every day is not high. It can be hard to exit, and coupled with wild swings means that there is a possibility of bigger losses. Manipulation is also a possibility due to the light regulation due to the over-the-counter method of trading as opposed to through a medium such as the New York Stock Exchange. It is also vulnerable to bad news, such as those of bankruptcies of companies that invest in Bitcoin.

Why Should I Invest in Them?

No one would invest in such an option without a return. There is a possibility of Bitcoin stocks rising as much as 200 to 300% within a short period of time.

It is recommended that you only invest a small portion of your portfolio within these stocks in order to manage your risk. Jack Tatar, a popular author and former CEO of GEM research solutions, placed $25,000 into the Bitcoin Investment Fund (BIT) as a bid to become involved with Bitcoins. Due to the timing of his investment, the value of his portfolio dropped in half from $64.51 to $31.16. However, Jack remains optimistic about the potential of Bitcoin. As mentioned in his writeup, Bitcoins are still growing as a medium of currency. You can donate to charity, use it at universities such as MIT, and the cryptocurrency even received an endorsement from the Financial Planning Association claiming “individual investors can benefit from holding a small amount of Bitcoins in a diversified portfolio”. It should be noted that investing in Bitcoin is not necessarily the same as owning them. The aforementioned BIT is a company that operates its assests entirely in Bitcoin, but purchasing stocks here is the equivalent of owning part of the company and not the currency.

How Can I Keep My Bitcoins Safe?

Alternatively, should you decide to invest directly into Bitcoins, consider the possibility of security issues that may arise in the purchase of a large quantity. Bitcoins weren’t initially intended for long term storage, meaning that there are certain vulnerabilities that could arise as a result of security breaches. One popular method is cold-storage – this essentially places your Bitcoin security keys in an offline, physical location on a computer or device that is not connected to the internet. Better yet, print out these keys into an offline wallet called a paper wallet to carry around. Once this process has been properly secured, consider diversifying your Bitcoin purchases through alternative Bitcoin currency through multiple websites. Dogecoin, Litecoin, Darkcoin, NTXcoin and Peercoin all hold significant value and can make the portfolio more valued. Be aware that they also run the risk of losing their value permanently.

Bitcoins are Popular Online

Major online retailers have begun accepting Bitcoin. It all started off with a humble website known as Bitcoinshop which went online in order to prove to investors that the currency had a market online. When sales rocketed and people began purchasing items as they would on any other online retailer using Bitcoin, major companies began to take notice. Overstock became the first company to accept Bitcoin, and saw over $100,000 of value in sales of Bitcoin within 24 hours of their release. This accounted for 4% of their daily sales revenue. Thanks to the power of Bitcoin, many other online retailers began moving towards investing in the currency such as Ebay through their payment processor Paypal.

You Can Play Bitcoin on the Public Markets

Sir Richard Branson noted that Bitcoin was “working” and vouched that it had a future. The resulting confidence should inspire investors to pay some attention to public equity markets, where it is possible for retail investors to park their cash. Here are some apps and companies that have taken to the scene and received positive results.

BTXTrader is an app that allows users to execute orders on five of the most popular Bitcoin exchanges. It features the ability to place stop-loss orders and replicates playing on traditional stock exchanges. The app was acquired recently by WCPS International, a company specialising in engineering in wireless communication, construction, and electrical power. Stocks for the company rose from $1.51 to a high of $2.75 upon the announcement.

SmartTrans is a mineral exploration company that is revamping itself into a software services company that is focusing on subsidiary Bitcoin mining. The firm purchased a $500,000 on 30 th of November with Zhenya Tsvetnenko on a Bitcoin mining contract. According to public sources, the company generated a gross revenue of $150,000 within the first week.

Zynga is a popular gaming giant that is well known for online social gaming such as Farmville. The company announced that it would be experimenting with Bitcoin payments, and saw a 10 percent point increase to its stock prices to a high of $4.059 as of 4 th of January this year. With $1bn in annual sales, the company could prove to be a market leader in the video gaming industry for Bitcoin in the near future.

What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is a new currency that was created in 2009 by an unknown person using the alias Satoshi Nakamoto. Transactions are made with no middle men – meaning, no banks! Bitcoin can be used to book hotels on Expedia, shop for furniture on Overstock and buy Xbox games. But much of the hype is about getting rich by trading it. The price of bitcoin skyrocketed into the thousands in 2017.

Why Bitcoins?

Bitcoins can be used to buy merchandise anonymously. In addition, international payments are easy and cheap because bitcoins are not tied to any country or subject to regulation. Small businesses may like them because there are no credit card fees. Some people just buy bitcoins as an investment, hoping that they’ll go up in value.

Many marketplaces called “bitcoin exchanges” allow people to buy or sell bitcoins using different currencies. Coinbase is a leading exchange, along with Bitstamp and Bitfinex. But security can be a concern: bitcoins worth tens of millions of dollars were stolen from Bitfinex when it was hacked in 2016.

Transfers
People can send bitcoins to each other using mobile apps or their computers. It’s similar to sending cash digitally.

Mining
People compete to “mine” bitcoins using computers to solve complex math puzzles. This is how bitcoins are created. Currently, a winner is rewarded with 12.5 bitcoins roughly every 10 minutes.

Owning Bitcoins

Bitcoins are stored in a “digital wallet,” which exists either in the cloud or on a user’s computer. The wallet is a kind of virtual bank account that allows users to send or receive bitcoins, pay for goods or save their money. Unlike bank accounts, bitcoin wallets are not insured by the FDIC.

Wallet in cloud: Servers have been hacked. Companies have fled with clients’ Bitcoins.

Wallet on computer: You can accidentally delete them. Viruses could destroy them.

Though each bitcoin transaction is recorded in a public log, names of buyers and sellers are never revealed – only their wallet IDs. While that keeps bitcoin users’ transactions private, it also lets them buy or sell anything without easily tracing it back to them. That’s why it has become the currency of choice for people online buying drugs or other illicit activities.

Future in question

No one knows what will become of bitcoin. It is mostly unregulated, but some countries like Japan, China and Australia have begun weighing regulations. Governments are concerned about taxation and their lack of control over the currency.

Hoarders everywhere may be feeling smug after a British man threw a hard drive containing more than $9 million in bitcoin into the trash.

  • Bitcoin worth almost as much as gold

Bitcoin prices have surged to a high of $1,242. That makes the virtual currency only slightly less expensive than an ounce of gold.

  • Senate takes a close look at Bitcoin

Bitcoins are hotter than ever. Now a U.S. Senate panel is taking a close look at the digital currency.

It's likely that the Braintree subsidiary is serving as eBay's guinea pig, testing Bitcoin payments on a smaller scale before rolling the feature out to PayPal and the eBay site itself.

A tsunami of disruption - courtesy of Bitcoin - is headed directly for several sectors of the financial services industry.

Some of these companies may adapt to a world in which the digital currency plays a major role, but most are likely to become Bitcoin market victims - companies that will struggle and possibly disappear altogether.

This could have a tremendous impact on the U.S. economy, as 20% of the nation's gross domestic product (GDP) derives from the financial sector - an eye-popping $3.4 trillion.

When a well-known venture capitalist like Tim Draper is investing in Bitcoin with some $18 million of his own money, there has to be a really good reason.

Draper was the sole winner of the 29,656 bitcoins auctioned off June 27 by the U.S. Marshals Service. Those bitcoins had been seized by the federal authorities that shut down the notorious Silk Road website last fall.

But Draper isn’t just going to squirrel all those Bitcoins away.

Now, BitFury's audacious CEO has vowed that his company will be the first Bitcoin IPO.
