Has the Bitcoin Cash Monsterhype started now?

Bitcoin’s Rally has come to a temporary end with the cancellation of SegWit2x. A larger number of investors are therefore currently betting on Bitcoin Cash and not infrequently came the question or fear that it was now about the value of Bitcoin. This concern is explained not only by the price, but also by a currently very full Mempool: The number of waiting for a confirmation transactions is almost 100 million as high as in May.
In fact, after reaching the all-time high, the price has moved into a downside that has Bitcoin fully under control. Bitcoin has lost in value in the last 48 hours approximately 1200 euro (1400 US dollar). Currently there is no real end to this descent.

At the end of November, Bitcoin Cash has another hard-fork that can give extra confidence when the fork takes place and works.

I would be careful in this course explosion to get in there now, can go on but just as fast it can go down several hundred dollars.

First off let me say I am not a fan of Elliott Waves, now I know some traders rely solely on E.W. but as time goes on and they gain more experience those analysts will eventually come to the same conclusion as I have. Nothing has changed since my previous update, price is still moving sideways. Peter Thiel's Founders Fund made a bet on bitcoin that's now worth hundreds of millions of dollars

Peter Thiel. Reuters

  • Founders Fund, the venture-capital firm founded by the tech billionaire Peter Thiel, has made hundreds of millions of dollars from bitcoin investments, The Wall Street Journal reported.
  • The firm put $15 million to $20 million into the cryptocurrency and made a lot of money as bitcoin's value skyrocketed by nearly 1,400% in 2017, the report says.
  • Bitcoin markets responded favorably to the report, sending bitcoin up 12% on Tuesday.

Even Peter Thiel has caught the bitcoin bug.

Founders Fund, the venture-capital firm Thiel founded in 2005, invested $15 million to $20 million in the popular cryptocurrency, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The firm has told investors the bet on bitcoin is now worth hundreds of millions of dollars thanks to bitcoin's dramatic rise in the fourth quarter of last year, The Journal reported.

The cryptocurrency ended the year at about $14,000 — up from nearly $1,000 at the start of 2017.

It's unclear exactly when Founders Fund bought its bitcoin. It declined to comment on the report.

Founders Fund's bitcoin investments are spread across several the firm's funds, including one launched as recently as the middle of last year, The Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

It's unclear whether any of the firm's investments have been sold, according to the report.

Despite bitcoin's growing hype and popularity, few mainstream institutions have invested in the cryptocurrency, citing its speculative value and the volatility of its pricing — its price can swing by double-digit percentage points in a matter of hours.

Markets responded favorably on Tuesday following The Journal's initial report on the firm's investment. Bitcoin was up 12%, at about $15,100, on Tuesday, up from an opening price of $13,510, according to Markets Insider.

Triple Entry Accounting

Double Entry accounting

Modern financial accounting is based on a double-entry bookkeeping system.
Described simply, double-entry bookkeeping allows firms to maintain records that reflect what the firm owns and owes and also what the firm has earned and spent over any given period of time. Double-entry bookkeeping revolutionized the field of financial accounting during the Renaissance period. Whereas simple ledgers had long been the standard for record keeping for merchants, the church and state treasuries, the growth of long distance trade and creation of the first joint stock companies resulted in firms whose records were too voluminous and complicated to provide any assurance of accuracy to their users.

Triple Entry Accounting (Double-entry + Cryptography)
Triple entry accounting is an enhancement to the traditional double-entry system in which all accounting entries involving outside parties are cryptographically sealed by a third entry. These include purchases of inventory and supplies, sales, tax and utility payments and other expenses. Placed side by side, the bookkeeping entries of both parties to a given transaction are congruent. A seller books a debit to account for cash received, while a buyer books a credit for cash spent in the same transaction, but in separate sets of accounting records. This is where the blockchain comes in: rather than these entries occurring separately in independent sets of books, they occur in the form of a transfer between wallet addresses in the same distributed, public ledger, creating an interlocking system of enduring accounting records. Since the entries are distributed and cryptographically sealed, falsifying them in a credible way or destroying them to conceal activity is practically impossible.

Triple-Entry Accounting Features:

- Permissioned Distributed Ledger - blockchain

- Validated, Secure & Private

- Digital Signed Receipts

In practice, for a UK solution, it is envisaged that two or more of the UK's Big Four accounting & audit practice firms would be the validators on a permissioned distributed ledger used to process and record triple entry accounting records and provide trusted real-time auditing and "Proof of Transaction."

financial cryptographer, and described in his paper published in 2005,

three years before the emergence of Bitcoin and its underlying

"Whilst double-entry bookkeeping has been the foundation of corporate accounting for centuries, Bitcoin ? or more accurately the blockchain itself ? now provides a way to introduce an even more powerful method that has been discussed for a number of years ? triple-entry bookkeeping. The simplest explanation here is (inevitably!) found on another of Richard Gendall Brown?s excellent recent posts. However, for those of you who want my summary rather than his (far clearer) explanation, here goes:-

Let?s imagine Company A buys goods from Company B. In today?s world, that means:- Company A will change its accounts accordingly ? by recording the cash going out/goods going in. Company B will change its accounts accordingly ? by recording the goods going out/cash going in. But what if the record of that transaction also gets recorded by a third party? Third party = the blockchain, which verifies (cryptographically seals) each transaction and issues a receipt.

Result: every transaction would have a corresponding entry on the books of the other that would have to be verified by the blockchain. Now every transaction is effectively recorded in three places."

Bitcoin May Be Stalling Here

I wrote an article just yesterday in which I suggested a target of $1,000 was on the horizon for bitcoin. Taking my own advice, I went long as a result of that analysis. However, I have since closed that long position as a result of subtle indications on the 2 hour chart that support might be failing.

As you can see, when price fell, price bounced odd the 2 nd arc and re-entered the sphere of the 1 st arc. The arc provided support for several candles. This was the bullish event that led me to believe that another bitcoin rally was likely beginning. However, at the red arrow, the 1 st arc failed again. This is not something I would expect if a rally was about to begin.

There is more reason to question the assertion that a rally to 1,000 is nigh. Here is the same 2 hour chart, with a setup from the previous swing high.

Here you can see how the 3 rd arc pair has supported price ever since the panic low. But I see that price has clearly entered the arc pair and could arguably be working its way through it. If this is the case, then a drop could be on the horizon, as soon as the arc is cleared.

Taking a look at the 8-hour chart:

Here we see an indication that a lower high may be unfolding, as price is apparently being turned away by an Andrews Pitchfork resistance line.

Putting all these clues together led me to close my long position, and motivated me to write this article a day early. I personally intend to watch from the sidelines for a bit, until this market clearly indicates the direction it intends to go.

I went to the Yahoo Troubleshooting page but the article that said to do a certain 8 steps to fix the problem with Yahoo Services not working and how to fix the problem. Of course they didn't work.

I contacted Samsung thru their Samsung Tutor app on my phone. I gave their Technican access to my phone to see if there was a problem with my phone that stopped the Yahoo Search App from working. He went to Yahoo and I signed in so he could try to fix the Yahoo Search App not working. Survey: Institutional Traders Are Split on Bitcoin's Price, Wary of ICOs

A plurality of respondents to a new survey from brokerage firm Triad Securities said they believe bitcoin is in a bubble that's primed to crash.

The survey was conducted earlier this month by New York-based Triad as well as Datatrek Research, garnering responses from 317 institutional traders. Of those, just over half work for buy-side firms, with roughly 10 percent and 8 percent coming from sell-side and service provider companies, respectively.

The results of the poll showed that over 39 percent of respondents indicated that they think "this is a bubble - it must crash." Twenty-seven percent said they think the price of bitcoin will continue to rise – albeit more slowly compared to recent moves – while about 16 percent struck a more bullish tone, calling for a doubling of the price within the next six months. Seventeen percent didn't offer an opinion on the topic.

That divided take was on further display in the data, as some 31 percent of respondents reported that they had actually purchased some bitcoin. An additional 36 percent said they have considered it purchasing some but haven't yet, while 30 percent said "no, never," according to Triad. About one-and-a-half percent of respondents indicated that they are unfamiliar with cryptocurrencies.

The data was drawn from a group that skewed heavily toward those over the age of 35, with more than half of those involved reporting that they were above 45 years or older. Roughly 20 percent of the respondents were 34 or younger.

Iffy on ICOs

Several of the survey questions pertained to initial coin offerings (ICOs), or sales of cryptographic data that can be used to bootstrap a new blockchain network.

As might be expected, relatively few of respondents – about 8 percent – said they have invested in token sales.

That said, 29 percent said they "have considered investing in them," though another 15 percent indicated that they would only do so in the event additional regulation comes into play.

The survey also offered some details on the factors that institutional traders would consider before investing in an ICO. When asked to choose three from a list of possible top considerations, respondents prioritized "founders/key employees", "total addressable market" and the overall type of token.
