Jaxx Statement on Bitcoin Cash (BCH)

Background

On Tuesday August 1st, 2017, at 12:20pm UTC, Bitcoin Cash, a new digital currency which has been gaining a lot of attention recently, will come to existence. Since Bitcoin Cash (BCH*) is a fork of Bitcoin (BTC), should you own and are in control of the private keys to your Bitcoin (BTC), you will have the ability to claim the same corresponding amount of Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

In preparation for this fork, users who wish to claim their Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are advised to move their Bitcoins (BTC) off hosted wallets and exchanges to a place where they can be in control of the private keys to their Bitcoin (BTC). With a few exceptions, hosted services such as Coinbase will not be giving their users the ability to retrieve their corresponding Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

What does this mean for Jaxx users?

As a multi-platform, multi-currency blockchain wallet, over the past many days, we have been flooded with requests to support Bitcoin Cash (BCH). Yesterday, we officially made the decision to work towards full integration.

Since Jaxx users are always in control of their private keys, corresponding Bitcoin Cash (BCH) will be safe in your Jaxx wallet. However, please know that you will not be able to access/send/receive your Bitcoin Cash (BCH) until the integration takes place.

The process of downloading and indexing the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) blockchain is lengthy. We are currently downloading the blockchain and expect indexing to start shortly. The indexing of a blockchain as big as Bitcoin’s has an unknown duration and could take anywhere from a few days to 1 to 2 weeks. You will be then able to claim them once Jaxx fully integrates Bitcoin Cash (BCH) into the wallet.

Recommendations for Jaxx users

Jaxx users wishing to claim their Bitcoin Cash (BCH) can do one of the following:

Leave your Bitcoin (BTC) untouched in Jaxx until the full integration of Bitcoin Cash (BCH) goes live
Send your Bitcoins (BTC) to an exchange that will be allowing users the ability to claim their Bitcoin Cash (BCH) such as our partner Bittrex
Send your Bitcoins (BTC) to a wallet that will be allowing users the ability to claim their Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
Export your Bitcoin (BTC) keys (see below) from Jaxx or send your Bitcoin (BTC) to a wallet that will be fully supporting both Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCC) at launch

Jaxx to include Bitcoin Cash support starting this week

Blockchain asset and cryptocurrency wallet platform Jaxx has announced they will soon be releasing support for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) on their platform, soon should mean this upcoming week as relayed in their latest update.

Jaxx reportedly uses Insight Server, which is the same service used by several other major platforms. Insight decided not to support Bitcoin Cash.

This left Jaxx developers with an extra ordinary amount of work to sync and reindex the BCH blockchain on a completely new system. This process has taken the team longer than expected.

Regardless, Jaxx is now almost finished with BCH integration.

Through the past weeks testing, the team says they are still seeing some performance issues which they want to be resolved before going live.

“We’re not just employees here – we’re users, too, and we’re also anxious to be able to control our BCH in our own Jaxx wallets. We’ll be ready soon. In the meantime, if you received BCH in the August 1st fork and have not moved it off to a different address, that BCH is safe and will be accessible in Jaxx next week.”

Jaxx Wallet Finalizes Bitcoin Cash Integration

There are many different wallet solutions which can support multiple cryptocurrencies. In the case of Bitcoin Cash, this list has been growing steadily. There is always room for improvements in this regard, though. Jaxx is the latest wallet to focus on BCH integration. It is a welcome addition to the ecosystem, to say the least. Whether or not this means BCH will go up in value further, remains to be seen.

Jaxx had announced their plans for BCH quite some time ago. However, integrating this forked version of Bitcoin requires time and effort. After a few weeks of building the code and testing the integration, things have finally fallen into place. As of last night, the updated wallet officially supports Bitcoin Cash. An interesting addition, to say the very least. Although Jaxx is not a cold storage solution by any means, their addition is still heavily appreciated.

Bitcoin Cash is Live on Jaxx

Bitcoin Cash users have plenty of wallets to choose from these days. In the mobile department, there is still plenty of room for additions, though. More specifically, only a handful of applications effectively support BCH right now. The choices on iOS are very limited for the time being, mainly because Apple’s review process takes a very long time. The same applies to Jaxx right now, as their updated version is only live on Android.

It is unclear when the iOS version will come to market, though. Apple’s review process can take anywhere from days to weeks. Jaxx is not a new application for iOS, though, which means approval shouldn’t take overly long these days. Then again, only time will tell when we see some big developments in this regard. For now, though, Android users get the privilege of using BCH before their Apple buddies.

It is important to reiterate Jaxx shouldn’t be used for long-term storage. The wallet has a history of not being entirely securely in this regard. It is good for short-term storage, but that’s about it for the time being. For those looking for long-term safe storage, be other solutions will need to be found sooner or later. Hardware wallet support for BCH would be pretty interesting, to say the least. All things considered, the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem continues to grow, which is all most people care about right now.

Improve your services

Your search engine does not find any satisfactory results for searches. It is too weak. Also, the server of bing is often off

I created a yahoo/email account long ago but I lost access to it; can y'all delete all my yahoo/yahoo account except for my newest YaAccount

I want all my lost access yahoo account 'delete'; Requesting supporter for these old account deletion; 'except' my Newest yahoo account this Account don't delete! Because I don't want it interfering my online 'gamble' /games/business/data/ Activity , because the computer/security program might 'scure' my Information and detect theres other account; then secure online activities/ business securing from my suspicion because of my other account existing will make the security program be 'Suspicious' until I'm 'secure'; and if I'm gambling online 'Depositing' then I need those account 'delete' because the insecurity 'Suspicioun' will program the casino game 'Programs' securities' to be 'secure' then it'll be 'unfair' gaming and I'll lose because of the insecurity can be a 'Excuse'. RYAN RAHSAD BELL literally means

Question on a link

In the search for Anaïs Nin, one of the first few links shows a picture of a man. Why? Since Nin is a woman, I can’t figure out why. Can you show some reason for this? Who is he? If you click on the picture a group of pictures of Nin and no mention of that man. Is it an error?

Repair the Yahoo Search App.

Yahoo Search App from the Google Play Store on my Samsung Galaxy S8+ phone stopped working on May 18, 2018.

I went to the Yahoo Troubleshooting page but the article that said to do a certain 8 steps to fix the problem with Yahoo Services not working and how to fix the problem. Of course they didn't work.

I contacted Samsung thru their Samsung Tutor app on my phone. I gave their Technican access to my phone to see if there was a problem with my phone that stopped the Yahoo Search App from working. He went to Yahoo and I signed in so he could try to fix the Yahoo Search App not working. He also used another phone, installed the app from the Google Play Store to see if the app would do any kind of search thru the app. The Yahoo Search App just wasn't working.

I also had At&t try to help me because I have UVERSE for my internet service. My internet was working perfectly. Their Technical Support team member checked the Yahoo Search App and it wouldn't work for him either.

We can go to www.yahoo.com and search for any topic or website. It's just the Yahoo Search App that won't allow anyone to do web searches at all.

I let Google know that the Yahoo Search App installed from their Google Play Store had completely stopped working on May 18, 2018.

I told them that Yahoo has made sure that their Yahoo members can't contact them about anything.

I noticed that right after I accepted the agreement that said Oath had joined with Verizon I started having the problem with the Yahoo Search App.
No matter what I search for or website thru the Yahoo Search App it says the following after I searched for
www.att.com.

I tried to search for things like www.homedepot.com. The same thing happened. It would say WEBPAGE NOT AVAILABLE. The only thing that changed were all the upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols.
Then it would again say

net::ERR_CLEARTEXT_NOT_PERMITTED

This is the same thing that happened when Samsung and At&t tried to do any kind of searches thru the Yahoo Search App.

Yahoo needs to fix the problem with their app.
